Strawberry Vanilla Jam Thumbprint Cookies
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 cup Old World Foods Strawberry Vanilla Jam
- Powdered sugar for topping
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 350F (177C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour and salt together to combine well.
3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add vanilla extract and milk.
5. Gradually add flour, mixing until just combined and dough starts to form. Be careful not to overmix.
6. Roll the dough into 12 balls and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.
7. Create a heart shape in the center of each ball using your pinky.
8. Using a small spoon (or piping bag), fill each cookie with Old World Foods Strawberry Vanilla Jam (don’t overfill or it will spill out while baking).
9. Bake for 10-13 minutes, until barely lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack for another 10 minutes.
10. Dust with powdered sugar if desired. Enjoy!
